DSC Re-opening August 2021

Hello all,

We have been informed that we are unable to resume our sessions at the Grange Hall until September at the earliest.
However, we have some exciting news. Over the summer we will be running all our usual sessions at the Mickleover Community Centre instead.

The sessions will be:
Tuesday portrait, 10am to 12
Friday life, 10am to 12
Friday evening, mixed programme, 7pm to 9pm.

Please do not arrive for the sessions more than 15 minutes before they begin.

There will be no membership fees to pay until January. Session rates will be £5 per session. At this point we are only able to welcome current club members. Fees etc will be reviewed as we go along.
The rooms have a limit of 30 people. We have no effective way of booking people in to the sessions, and past experience has shown that people book but don’t always turn up. We will of course try our best to ensure everyone can take part in the sessions they come to.

There is a café on site which will be open during the day and may be of interest to some for lunch. You will need to bring your own drinks with you as there will not be time to order drinks during the session and there is no kitchen for our use. Biscuits will be provided!
There is a small sink for you to wash out brushes etc
Safety considerations. All groups sanitise all the chairs and tables at the end of their sessions. There are plenty of hand sanitiser around the building. We are aware that some members will be nervous about coming back to the sessions so, although masks will not be mandatory, we ask everyone to bring one along to wear if you are close to others and to always be mindful of everyone else’s space, adhering to social distancing where possible. The room is large, so we should be able to space out.

About the venue

The Community Centre is the old school building on Uttoxeter Road, Mickleover, between the Tesco roundabout and the Masons Arms pub to the south and is directly opposite Domino’s Pizzas and Steve’s Fish Bar.
Access is via the first turning on the right after the pedestrian crossing, Vicarage Road; turn right into the car park after the library. Parking is plentiful and free. There is a bus stop outside the centre.
If anyone does not have transport and will struggle to get to this new venue, please do let us know and we will try to sort a lift for you.
